By the Smurfs! Maddy is 13!

I think I got my cake making badge today. Maddy turned 13 in the week, celebrating it on a day out to the Spring Fair with Max and opening the latest ever family birthday presents at 9pm She let me save the cake till the weekend so I had more time (thanks Maddy) and Josie, Amelie and I did it okay.

I have to say, I'm genuinely rather proud

I'm not totally sure I can top that but I'm so pleased she liked it. I often feel I don't do enough proper mother things and I was worrying they would grow up never having had a special birthday cake from me. I tend to feel I let Maddy down the most but hopefully she will always remember this

Happy birthday Maddy!

Loving the texture of the river and the log. (The lilypads were good too).

And fond of the blue edge on the bottom.

Do the fondants have one taste, and if not, what determines them?
