Make the best of it.

The girls were away this weekend. In the olden days, we relished a weekend off but these days we miss them when they aren't here. They're such good company. Plus of course, it meant Max and I were a two man tag team keeping the amazing non-napping boy occupied :)

We took him to visit ikea, where we entirely ailed to find bedroom furniture we liked. Then we drove through Buckingham where we saw exactly the chest of drawers we wanted on a market, parked and discovered it had sold 30seconds after we passed it. Pah. We really need some kid clothing storage. Really need it.

So we took him for lunch in Stoney Stratford, the town I bought my first car. (a Yugo called Hugo, if you must know ;) )

I love Buckingham AND Stoney Stratford. And this pub.

Bene charmed everyone in ikea, the pub and grandad too.

He also charmed my nana. He just does that.

Having failed to buy things, we came home and moved all the furniture about and watched Sweeney episodes. Tch.

It looks better and has a bigger Wii/baby floor playing space. Going to take down the hideous curtains soon.

I hung up some pictures.

It was lovely, but I'm glad they are home. We are a family and we work best together.

I have had a weekend with only one child here as the other went away with friends for the weekend, and it has been quite strange, and very quiet!

It’s hard work having one on their own isn’t it? Much better to have them all entertaining each other.

I’m still at the relishing- the- quiet stage.
Is nice to think there’s going to be a time when the boy will stop running around and will behave and concentrate for long enough to have a peaceful and productive time together.
