I think that must be a very difficult decision. I know too many people with that conundrum (had it myself for a while and may yet again next year!)

Do i know you from LHS then? Unusual for someone to refer to it in that way (or even know i went there!) unless they also went there.

Merry, I was not in any way criticising, more reflecting that with the non-choice I have in terms of needing to go to work, (since people are never going to come to me and I have issues around setting up private practice which would pay more for less), I am fortunate that services local to me are good ones. I have no regrets about my career choice although on many days I would much rather be out with the children than dealing with the stresses at work.

I wouldn't describe being home all of the time as 'brave' but certainly feel that for me that it's something I'm not suited to do 24/7. I need a bit of time -out from the home and work fills this need very well. Although it is emotionally exhausting on an almost daily basis, being away helps me to then focus the time spent with my children so we can get the most out of it.

I agree you don't need a disclaimer. I've been enjoying reading, though not commenting on, your blogs long enough to know your position on this and have great admiration for the way you and your girls are and your ability to have created such a wonderful childhood for them. I also admire the fact that you are able to support your children in their own choices about education without being coloured by your own negative experiences of schooling at LHS.
