I completely agree. I just wished I’d thought it through properly before sending my eldest to school for her first year. I was horribly bullied all through primary school, and when I finally managed to turn that around in high school, I became the bully instead. I think we took B out of school early enough that it hasn’t made a lasting difference. But there is no way in hell that any future kids of ours are going anywhere near school, because I believe bullying is intrinsic to the institution of compulsory schooling and will never be eradicated.

good post merry, i fully agree. btw barry shearman is the huddersfield mp who also recently said children should start school at 7
